Our Itinerary

Days 1-2

Fly overnight from Minneapolis – to Munich, Germany. Enjoy a group welcome dinner in Munich. Explore and rest well – deluxe accommodations in the heart of Old Town, in a beautifully updated historic hotel. 

Day 3

Take in Munich with its green parks and festive beer gardens. The day begins with a guided walking tour highlighting many of the countless options for afternoon free time: Glockenspiel, Marienplatz, Englischer Garten, Deutsches Museum, Olympic Village, BMW Museum, Dachau Concentration Camp, Nymphenburg Palace and more. Overnight in Munich.

Day 4

Travel by Deluxe coach bus from Munich through the lush Bavarian countryside, and stop to visit Neuschwanstein Castle. Then continue on to Innsbruck, capital city of Tyrol in western Austria.  Known as the “capital of the Alps” and the “city of endless stunning views”, Innsbruck hosted the 1964 and 1976 winter Olympics.  

Day 5

Flexible day of Alpine hiking and exploring in and around Innsbruck, Austria. Innsbruck offers gorgeous Alpine views, the Bergisel ski jump, great shopping, museums, beautiful architecture, the Swarovski Crystal World, Tyrolean delicacies and much more.

Day 6

Take in the scenic Alpine landscape while traveling by deluxe coach bus from Innsbruck to Switzerland. Nestled between a backdrop of towering alps and a sparkling lake, enjoy Lucerne’s lovely shops, lakeside cafes, covered chapel bridge, and famous carved Lion Monument. Overnight near Lucerne.

Day 7

An unforgettable day in the Swiss Alps – take in incredible views as you ride a cogwheel train, hike on Mt. Rigi, dine at a mountainside chalet, and enjoy the picturesque Vierwaldstättersee. Overnight near Lucerne.

Day 8

Travel by deluxe coach bus from Switzerland to the Black Forest, lush land of cuckoo clocks, magical forests, and waterfalls. Feast your eyes on bucolic surroundings and gorgeous countryside. Arrive in Colmar, France for a two night stay.

Day 9

The picturesque town of Colmar, France is in the heart of the Alsace wine region. It is known for cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, beauty and a rich heritage. Surprising and delicious flavors await. Free time options include biking, exploring, wine tasting, museums, and shopping.

Day 10

Spend a few hours in the historic university town of Heidelberg. Enjoy lunch, browse the shops, and visit the famous castle ruins overlooking the Neckar River. See the historic stone bridge, or wander the Philosopher’s Walk along Saints’ Mountain to see iconic views of old town and the castle. Continue to Oberwesel in the heart of the wine region of the Rhine River Valley, to spend the last two nights. 

Day 11

The day begins with an unforgettable hike along the lush banks of the Rhine. Then cruise by boat from Bacharach to St. Goar, passing the Loreley, steeply sloping vineyards, and castles galore.  Unwind with a visit to the Gasthaus wine cellar and linger over a delectable farewell dinner at our charming family-run inn.

Day 12

With full hearts, depart for the Frankfurt airport and fly back to Minneapolis, MN.
